Marcus Claudius Sabinus Aquila's grandfather (Marcus Claudius Sabinus Triarus) was the son of a cattle drover, and was proud of his roots-as attested to by the naming convention going back generations and confounding each one with having to come up with a distinguishing nickname.

TBoS Audition Part 2The warehouse was dark inside, and smelled like solvent and the dampness common to buildings with leaky pipes. Maintenance clearly wasn't their top priority. I began mincing along the top floor, and peered over the edge into the poorly lit open space in the center. The warehouse itself had three levels, although the second and third only extended out about fifteen feet from the wall and were made of what must be the most damnably creaky wood in all of creation. I felt like I was conducting an orchestra of terribly annoying little noises as I walked over to see.

Round 1: Conticiunium Part 3 I laid there stunned in the glass that my entrance had broken, in the flickering light of the arena as the backup systems started to reassert themselves. I must have been in some sort of luxury box, as I was on a luxurious dark wood table marred only by the broken glass making my tailor wince a universe away. Of course I had missed the couch just to the left of the table, but that was my luck. With a groan I pulled myself up, retracting the cord and reloading the grappling hook head, and quickly looked outside to see how my pursuer was making progress.
Needless to say I was shocked when I couldn't see him.&

Round 1: Conticiunium Part 2 There was a timeless moment when the large figure was throwing himself at me that gave me ample opportunity to observe just how royally buggered I really was. He had to be over 2 meters tall if he was a meter, and there wasn't a part of him that couldn't charitably be described as 'thick'. I could see muscle, but I could also see a lot of padding over the muscle. And then his clothing…Gods above he was armored like a 'gin, one of the great war machines that first strode out of the Araby deserts. Yes, Marcus is returning. I'm taking kind of a 'Star Trek' view of things though. Same world, same background...but instead of getting contacted by Athene, this Marcus found Lady Ink and the Book.

I was tempted to just have it be the same Marcus yanked out of Knossos into TBoS, but I decided that might be too Meta
